No, not everyone is on vacation enjoying the beautiful beaches of Normandy or the blazing sun of the Ardèche. But, good news, the long-awaited big weekend for Parisian workers has arrived. The streets of the capital have emptied and the metro trains are filled with tourists on the go and in a good mood. And even if you have to walk three blocks to find a bakery, a pharmacy and a tobacconist open, what a pleasure to be able to stroll around rediscovering your city and sit down on the terrace at the office exit. This year, no heat wave on the horizon and the sun is announced for the next few days. Yes, but what to do? Our tips for enjoying Paris on August 15th.
A breakfast in palace mode
What is open 365 a year? A hotel of course. And Paris has some magnificent ones. So we treat ourselves (after all, we're not on vacation) and treat ourselves to a magnificent breakfast at the Royal Monceau Raffles. On the menu of the restaurant la Cuisine: sweets with a selection of pastries from Pierre Hermé, waffles, crepes or pancakes made to order... But also eggs in all sauces, a seafood buffet, Lebanese mezes, a bar with alternative milks and even a space gluten free. What a great way to start the day.
Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, 37 avenue Hoche, 75008 Paris. Such. : 01 42 99 88 00. Breakfast buffet, €58.
Playing the tourist, the time of a cruise
But if we have the right! For once, we do like our Japanese, Brazilian or Russian friends and we discover Paris differently, during a stroll on the Seine. On the program: an hour well settled in a fully glazed boat over the most beautiful monuments of the capital. And on the open upper deck, you can enjoy an exceptional view and an unprecedented tanning session. A journey that begins at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
Bateaux Parisiens, port of Bourdonnais, 75007 Paris. Sightseeing cruise with commentary from €15, from 10 a.m. to 23 p.m., every 30 minutes.
What if we took the opportunity to have an exhibition or two?
Dalida, now or never
Only a few days left to discover Dalida's incredible wardrobe presented since the end of April at the Palais Galliera for the thirtieth anniversary of the disappearance of the singer. New Look dresses from the 50s by Carven, incendiary red Hollywood-style sheath dress by Jean Dessès, sober and chic in Loris Azzaro, pinafore dress from Balmain sixties, sequins and disco costumes by Michel Fresnay in the 70s, classic and timeless Yves Saint Laurent… We hurry, the exhibition closes its doors definitively on Sunday evening August 13th.

Spectacular Dior
For the past few weeks, the Museum of Decorative Arts has been tracing the history of 70 years of Dior. A major event for Paris, capital of creation. And a rich and dense exhibition that invites the visitor to discover the universe of its founder and the renowned fashion designers who succeeded him: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and most recently Maria Grazia Chiuri. More than 300 haute couture dresses designed from 1947 to the present day are presented to the public. We are enjoying it now, in a few weeks everyone will want to go. And in addition on August 15, the Louvre, the Louis Vuitton Foundation and the Center Pompidou are closed!

A few lengths, to get back in shape
We go to the Joséphine Baker swimming pool, surely the most original in Paris. We love the large outdoor infinity pool which directly overlooks the Seine. And with a little imagination, you even have the impression of doing your lengths directly in the river. The icing on the cake is one of the few pools open this Tuesday, August 15.
Quai Francois Mauriac, 75013 Paris. Such. : 01 56 61 96 50. Opening hours on the site www.piscine-baker.fr. Prices: full price entry: €3,60, 10-entry card: €29.
Go shopping ?
Good news for stileto addicts, this day could turn into a fashion marathon since department stores like Printemps, Galeries Lafayette, BHV Marais and Le Bon Marché will all be open. THE time of year to serenely choose your most beautiful back-to-school pieces.
A spritz or two with friends
It blows an air of Italy in eastern Paris. Head to the Palazzo, an ephemeral terrace that animates the forecourt of the Palais de la Porte Dorée this summer. Gourmandise, mixing of cultures and… relaxation with a flavor of Italy as a nod to the exhibition Ciao Italy ! Fridays are Elettro Friday, aperitif to the sound of electro, and on Saturdays, we try the brassoleria, a large collective barbecue to share with neighbors. The best of idleness close to the Bois de Vincennes.
The Palace, Palais de la Porte Dorée, 293 avenue Daumesnil, 75012 Paris. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 18 p.m. to midnight.
We're playing the Drugstore band again
When Éric Frechon, three-star chef and Meilleur Ouvrier de France joins forces with designer Tom Dixon to reopen the most emblematic place on the Champs-Élysées, this gives a pure nugget! Here, sea bass is eaten marinated in passion fruit, coriander and Thai spring onion or cooked in shellfish juice and vadouvan artichoke. Everyone has been flocking there for the past month, it is undoubtedly the last address to absolutely trust in August in Paris. At the start of the school year, you will no longer have a table.
The Drugstore, 133 avenue des Champs-Elysées, 75008 Paris. Such. : 01 44 43 79 00. Open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
An exceptional evening under the Paris sky
This summer, the Peninsula Paris is offering a secret table to experience an enchanted interlude suspended on the roof of the hotel. On the menu, a gourmet dinner prepared by the Executive Chef and Meilleur Ouvrier de France Christophe Raoux, accompanied by fine champagne bubbles and dedicated service provided by a butler. A unique experience in seventh heaven that has a price: count 600 € per person with wines. But when you love, you don't count.
The Peninsula Paris, 19 avenue Kléber, 75116 Paris, France. Such. : 01 58 12 67 30. Info and reservation by email.
Owl, an open-air cinema!
Head to La Villette to (re)discover Claude Chabrol's masterpiece, Ceremony. An extremely well-crafted script and a duo of shocking actresses, Isabelle Huppert and Sandrine Bonnaire, winners of the Volpi Cup (best female interpretation) at the Venice Film Festival in 1995. And what's more, it's free. To your plaids and deckchairs!

And the night ? Then we dance !
It is well known, when the children are not there, the parents dance. And more on Monday! For those nostalgic for the 1980s and 90s, direction Bellevilloise for a night flashback. More than 1 people are expected to dance to the biggest hits from Depeche Mode, Chic, Diana Ross, Snoop, Alliance Ethnic (yes, yes) or Daft Punk, all mixed by Jeff de Schilton & Vinz. For lovers of electro and deep house, head to the Cité de la Mode et du Design where the organizers of the La Belle Epoque party! are back this August 000th. Is the Garage than Edouard residents! and Moon, supported by Sacré Cœur (Overground, Rex Club), Julio Red, Rozoo (Rituel Recordings) and Jeff Buena Onda will take care of your ears.
