The National Bureau of Vigilance Against Antisemitism welcomes the decision of the. Court. D'Appel de Paris which on November 9 confirmed the sentence pronounced against Alain Soral for racial insults and contestation of crimes against humanity
Maître Nicolas SALOMON, lawyer for the European Jewish Organization, represented the BNVCA in this trial until the hearing of the Paris Court of Appeal on November 9, 2017, at which Alain SORAL was judged This last director of publication of the site Internet Equality and Reconciliation, was prosecuted for having distributed the cartoon called "CHUTZPAH HEBDO".
The author of this despicable drawing having remained unknown, only SORAL had been prosecuted and convicted at first instance.
He had appealed against the judgment of the 17th chamber of the Tribunal de Grande Instance of Paris of March 14, 2017, having sentenced him to 3 months in prison.
Yet calling, SORAL did not deign to come and explain himself to the appeal judges.
The General Prosecutor's Office requested confirmation of the sentence in view of the seriousness of the facts.
The. BNVCA remains attentive to the final decision which will be rendered on January 18, 2018.
