The BNVCA condemns the new anti-Semitic attack committed on Sunday, September 17, 2017, around 16:30 p.m., by a horde of described young people of North African origin, aged around 15, who verbally attacked members of the synagogue of Garges les Gonesses (95) to the cry of "Alla ouakbah, we're going to you slaughter".

Noting that one of the attackers had a tear gas canister and that another was trying to climb the wall of the synagogue, the victims immediately called the police. The perpetrators fled.

According to the president of this community, the attacks of the faithful and of this place of worship are recurrent. Several complaints have been filed. The synagogue remains a particularly vulnerable site because it is surrounded by high-rise buildings, in a city known to be sensitive.

The BNVCA welcomes the rapid intervention of the police and calls for increased surveillance of this synagogue, especially during the solemn celebrations of Jewish New Year's Day and the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur).

The BNVCA asks the Prefect of Val d'Oise to intervene with the mayor of Garges, so that he accedes to the request of the leaders of the Jewish community of Garges, and has the trees which hide the visibility of the video surveillance cameras pruned. installed to prevent incidents.

The BNVCA feels "fed up" expressed by most Jewish citizens, who are tired of being thus terrorized for nearly 18 years, and of suffering this new anti-Semitism which persists and does not weaken despite all the measures taken. .

I believe that we must continue to condemn these abuses because it is the only dissenting voice in relation to the current well-thought
in National Education it is complete anomie, we admit EVERYTHING and no one must say anything
I think that we must DENOUNCE this attitude coming from above, ministry, rectorate etc to which heads of establishment SUBMIT
as long as in one sector, things will not be condemned, we will not be able to do anything in other areas
