It is without illusion, and with great disappointment that the BNVCA welcomes the verdict pronounced by the judges of the Special Court of Assizes, who sentence Abdelkader Merah, brother of the Toulouse killer, anti-Semitic and anti-French terrorist, to only 20 years of imprisonment, thus deviating from the requisitions of the Advocate General who rightly demanded life imprisonment.
Thus, in their intimate conviction, the judges exonerated the big brother of his complicity with Mohamed, of whom he was the mentor.
If this trial was intended to be that of terrorism, we are not convinced that it has achieved its goal because, this decision of the magistrates anxious to scrupulously observe pure law, leaves the victims with a feeling of frustration, the bitter impression, that we didn't go all the way." and that this verdict could be likely to give the wrong signal to apprentice terrorists, followers of radical Islam
The BNVCA expects the General Prosecutor's Office to appeal this decision so that the defendants are sanctioned in accordance with the requisitions of the General Counsel.
