We, writers, philosophers, thinkers, historians, scientists, artists, actors, athletes, economic actors and association leaders, politicians of all persuasions, citizens, consider that the death under torture of Sarah Halimi not only seriously harms her family and à his relatives or to the Jewish community of France but à all the national community, even to our paradigm of life.

On April 4, Sarah Halimi, a 65-year-old French Jew, retired mother of three, was horribly tortured in her home. for almost an hour to the cries of "Allah Akbar" by Kobili Traoré who, after having completed his acts of barbarism, dragged the victim by the wrists to the third-floor window, under the spotlights of the police, before defenestrate it.

It was only then that the police installed at the foot of the balcony and on the landing decided to intervene to arrest the'assassin.

Thus, on April 4, in the heart of Paris, Mrs. Sarah Halimi was able to die with the knowledge and sight of the police without thisthemdo not intervene to stop the massacre and do not try to save the victim!

The continuation of the investigation, we know them, and she continues challenges usr: absolute silence, voluntary or required, of the media, attempt public authorities to conceal the real circumstances of the death of Madame Sarah Halimi et the anti-Semitic nature of the crime, the prosecutor's lack of clarity who rejects, day after day, the anti-Semitic characterization ofand this assassination...

So many ambiguities, voluntary or involuntary, whicherhave all been denied by the testimonies and the objective analysis of the circumstances of the crime.

As a result, rightly or wrongly, all of this can not appearsre to public opinion which like a will assumed to hide the real circumstances of the death of Mrs. Sarah Halimi, will who seems to speak both by lare the media that by theare public authorities. And especially, all of this suggests a deliberate attempt to deny the anti-Semitic nature of the drama.

Et so, again, the denial of reality seems yet having hit !

This is why it is imperative to have clear and unambiguous answers to the questions asked:

  • why, given the circumstances and the past of the aggressor, the anti-Semitic nature of the crime has not yet been recognized?
  • why didn't the police called on the spot by neighbors intervene in the apartment?
  • Why is the media silent?
  • Why do we want to be silenced?

No, we will not be silent!

No, you will not have our Silence!

Yes, we demand the Truth, the whole Truth!

Yes, we demand that on the occasion of thist barbaric assassination, remove any ambiguity which could come from the State in its fight against anti-Semitism and:

  • Let the whole truth be established about the murder Barbarian by Sarah Halimi.
  • Let the whole truth be made and revealed on the depth of the French fractures thati reveal themselves so much through this abject crime only by the scandalous silence that surrounds it
  • Que our leaders take finally aware of what is really going on in this country and that they agifeel Consequently.

To the memory of Sarah and for his family, for the Jewish community of France bruised for decades but also and above all for the honor of France.

You will not have our silence…
    And after?

Should we, can we still be surprised, when the situation of our community has been deteriorating for decades, by such atrocity?

When you think about it, beyond the horror it arouses, was this event totally unexpected?
And, I dare to ask myself, is it excluded that it happens again?

To answer these questions we need to research the circumstances of this barbarism and the silence that surrounds it:

    – circumstances that could not ignore the impact of this affair on an electorate that has become numerically unavoidable, in the midst of the presidential election…

    - deafening media silence if one thinks of the "revelations" that have marred this election campaign...

Collusion between politics and the media?
Yes, in all likelihood, judging by this singular uniformity of blindness.

What does this tragedy teach us (again, am I tempted to write)?

    – That there is now a gap between our community which. perhaps insufficiently perceives its marginalization and the rest of the French population.

    - that our values (religious, way of life, commemoration of the Holocaust) are rejected by a not insignificant part of our fellow citizens, at the origin of the indifference that we observe, or of growing hostility.

That currents of anti-Zionism, anti-Semitism have come together, sometimes against nature (extreme right/extreme left) on the most diverse pretexts (conflict in the Middle East, financial crisis). Or else between grandsons of Nazifying collaborators and “young” of the cities.

Have the Jewish leaders really taken the measure of this cleavage which isolates our community?

We talk about it, perhaps, at the Dîner du Crif…
